This Research Assistantship contributes to and supports research central to the Books and Bodies monograph under development by Heather Blatt, Associate Professor of English Literature at FIU, who would also work to supervise, guide, and train the Research Assistant. The project goal is to further the advancement of the monograph towards publication, and contribute to the Research Assistant’s writing and research skills. This project is already well-advanced through conference papers and essays accepted by editors or in press, and has been supported in the past by previous Research Assistants, which means that support structures to facilitate the RA’s work, like explanatory guidance documents, have previously been developed. It involves computer skills (Excel knowledge is a plus), research skills, and more, for which training and help will be provided. The internship will run from Monday, May 6 through Friday, June 14. The assistant would work six hours a week at a rate of $16 an hour. In order to be considered, students must be registered for at least one credit during the Summer A term (May 6-June 14). Payments will be made through stipend at the end of the internship and are contingent on your preparing a short report on the experience. Please note: If you are receiving Federal Financial Aid, which includes scholarships, grants, or loans, your award may be affected.
