As a recently designated National Register of Historic Places landmark, the National YoungArts Foundation desires an ambassadorial presence which can also be a learning experience moving forward in the arts, architecture, fine arts, hospitality and museum fields. Position will provide greeter/docent/educational tour services for our historic campus out of our first floor art Gallery space, and should be flexible during business hours, Monday-Friday 9a-5p. This role could also involve work with supporting YoungArts and community based programming on evenings and weekends.

Pérez Art Museum Miami seeks an intern for the curatorial department. Duties will include research, assistance in creating exhibition checklists and other documents, clerical work, assistance with publication management, and general support for curatorial department staff. The intern may occasionally be tasked with assisting members of the education and/or registration departments. Candidates should be organized and able to self-direct when necessary, with strong writing skills. Bilingual (English plus Spanish, Portuguese or Creole) preferred.

Special Collections has a large collection of art – painting, prints and sculpture – in storage and on the walls of the library.

The intern will assist the Head of the Department to create an inventory of these works,  The final project will be a visual finding aid

of the collection with the aim of creating online exhibitions of the department’s holdings.

The curatorial department at The Wolfsonian–FIU has a position for an intern in Spring 2020 to conduct object-based research and assist with the process of creating upcoming exhibitions and installations. The process could include label writing and preparation, story board layouts, and exhibition checklist maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the history of decorative arts and design, and have exceptional research skills.

The Wolfsonian–FIU seeks an intern for Spring 2020 in the Education Department to work closely with the Education Manager in the development and coordination of interactive museum education programming and curriculum, space, and materials; this includes programs offered to families, public school age students, as well as other members of the public. The ideal candidate has an interest in museum education; working with diverse audiences and families; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; excellent writing and research skills; and ability to multi-task. Preferences: Bilingual (Spanish), public speaking experience, and available on occasional weekends.

The Government Resources and Information Department at the Green Library is seeking an intern for the South Florida Collection. The South Florida Collection is comprised of textual and visual materials recognized for being unique, relevant to, and having historical value to South Florida. With materials from Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Collier, and Monroe Counties, this humanities collection focus is on cultivating a concentrated collection of the distinct cultures and communities of South Florida. The intern, working with the Head of Government Resources, will have a hands-on opportunity to expand their knowledge of and work with local communities and agencies.

The Books and Bodies Research Assistantship contributes to and supports research central to the Books and Bodies monograph under development by Heather Blatt, Associate Professor of English Literature at FIU, who would also work to supervise, guide, and train the Research Assistant. Books and Bodies centers around an innovative blend of research methodologies, from traditional literary and scholarly research, to engaging primary archival resources, to development of unique digital tools that aid in quantifiable analysis of historical, aesthetics-driven practices. The research intern would contribute via analysis of art history, 15th c. documents, and digital tools for organizing and cleaning up data-driven projects.

Professor Ebru Ozer seeks an intern to work closely with a landscape architecture faculty on stormwater infrastructure design for South Florida. The intern will learn how to conduct research on local climate, geology, and ecology, and will have the opportunity to design, build, and test alternative strategies for stormwater friendly landscape design.
