Spring 2023 Undergraduate Research Assistantships in the Humanities
The Humanities Edge invites you to apply for a research assistantship to fund undergraduate research in the humanities.
The assistantships are intended to help students build research and writing skills that are directly relevant to future employment while assisting professors on a variety of projects centered on the humanities. The program provides a focused research experience for the student and research assistance for the professor.
This opportunity is open to full-time, FIU faculty in the humanities.
Applications are open through October 14, 2022.
Award notifications will be made by October 28, 2022.
You will be asked to upload a description of the research project that includes expected outcomes and how the project relates to the core goals of the grant, including making diversity meaningful in the humanities, illustrating the importance of humanities scholarship, and preparing students for the 21st-century workforce.
Student applications will open after the faculty projects have been selected. Students may begin their research as early as February 2023. Students will receive $16.00 per hour for part-time work (20 hours per week) for 10 weeks, up to $3,200 per semester.
