2026 Summer H.E.ART Program
August 3–5, 2026
“H.E.ART”—for history, English, and art—is an on campus program designed for students interested in studies in the humanities at FIU. Explore why the humanities matter, strengthen critical thinking, research, and creative skills, and consider how humanities studies can lead to fulfilling careers.
Paid opportunities: Are you looking to strengthen your skills and gain professional work experience?
At The Humanities Edge our goal is to provide opportunities for students to gain valuable professional experiences and skills and receive a stipend at the same time. We work with FIU partners and local organizations to bring students meaningful internships experiences.
What professional skills will I learn during my internship?
- Hone your writing skills in a busy communications office.
- Contribute research to an upcoming museum exhibition.
- Develop educational materials for students visiting a museum.
- Organize a digital archive.
- Strengthen your time management skills
Internships
“My recommendation for students is to apply to all the internship opportunities that you feel will benefit your professional career and intellectual satisfaction. Even if you do not feel qualified or like you don't have enough time to do the internship, you will not regret adding this experience to your resume/cv along the road.”Anaridia Ramona Molina (FIU, 2020)
