Transfer Buddies 2019
The Humanities Edge Program at FIU is looking for students to serve as Transfer Buddies to new students transferring from Miami Dade College (MDC).
After a brief training session, Transfer Buddies will be paired with a small group of students for the 2019 academic term, beginning with the Fall 2019 semester. Transfer Buddies will be available to their group to answer basic questions about the campus and life at FIU. They will be required to meet at least once in person with their group and check in regularly by text. At the end of the academic year, students and Transfer Buddies will evaluate the program.
Open to all FIU students who have transferred from MDC. Transfer Buddies will receive a small stipend and a certificate of service. This is a unique opportunity to give back while helping to guide your peers through the transfer process.
